You wanted it so much, and we took our time.

Because to come up with the perfect mortar, or rather, crusher, is not just any. We present to you our first crusher, which will finally grind all kinds of Kampot pepper and become the only tool for everything!

How is it innovative? It is the antithesis of huge mortars in the kitchen. It has just 10 cm, it fits perfectly into your palm and instead of a traditional pestle, it has a beautiful ergonomic handle that prevents the pepper from 'spilling out' of the mortar. Thanks to high-quality cast iron and acacia wood is, however, strong and heavy and can handle crushing even on a table. On the bottom it has built-in smart rubber strips, which literally stick the mortar to any surface!

It was made for us by Danish CrushGrind® – so it comes from the same quality, design, and tradition, like all our grinders. It loves Kampot pepper, but also all kinds of spices; only avoid salt, which cast iron doesn't like. The design is inspired by Asia and is very minimalist so that it fits into both traditional and modern kitchens.

Grinding mechanism

You can use the mortar on Kampot pepper, seasonings and herbs.

If you decide to also use salt, be sure to thoroughly rinse and care for your mortar after use, otherwise it could rust!

Maintenance

Cast iron is dimensionally stable and resistant to mechanical damage.

With proper care, a quality cast iron mortar can serve for several generations. Before first use, it is suitable to wash the mortar with a sponge in hot water, but without using detergents. After washing, the mortar is well dried, rubbed with edible oil, heated, and then wiped with a paper towel. This process can be repeated. The mortar will then be ready for first use. It is completely unsuitable to put the mortar in the dishwasher. The detergent would get into the pores and "spoil" the taste of the food. For this reason, do not use any detergents. Cast iron cookware contains no chemicals and is non-stick.
